PassportMap

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BP Labs ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in the PassportMap mobile application ("the App"). PassportMap is built to keep your data on your device. There are no user accounts, and we do not collect or store your personal information on our servers.

1. Information we do not collect

We have no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking of how you use the App. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or usage history. We never receive your location, your membership card image, or your trips, these stay on your device, as described below.

2. Information stored only on your device

The following is created and stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Location: With your permission, the App uses your location (while you are using the App) only to show nearby partner facilities and calculate distances. Your location is used on the device and is not sent to us or anyone else.

  • Membership card photo: If you add a photo of your membership card, it is stored in the App's private storage on your device. You can replace or delete it at any time within the App.

  • Trips and preferences.: Trip plans and your "home facility" setting are saved locally on your device.

Deleting the App removes this local data from your device.

3. Facility data we download

To show partner facilities, the App downloads a public list of ASTC facility information from our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services). This is a one-way download of public reference data. No personal information is sent with this request, other than the standard technical details (such as your IP address) that accompany any internet request and that hosting providers may log for security and operational purposes.

4. Purchases

Pro is sold through the Apple App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system. We never see or receive your payment information. Apple processes the transaction and simply tells the App whether you have active Pro access; that status is stored locally on your device. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Advertising (free version only)

The free version of the App displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and use certain information — such as device identifiers (including Apple's Advertising Identifier, "IDFA"), approximate location derived from IP address, and ad-interaction data — in accordance with Google's policies.

  • The App asks for your permission (through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) before using your Advertising Identifier for personalized ads. You can decline; the App works either way, and you will simply see less-personalized ads.

  • The App uses Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving ad measurement.

  • Upgrading to Pro removes all ads.

For details on Google's practices, see Google's Privacy Policy and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services". You can also manage ad personalization in your device settings.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the free version shows third-party ads, we recommend the ad-free Pro version for use by or around children.

7. Your choices and rights

Because we do not hold your personal data on our servers, your data stays under your control on your device. You can:

  • Delete your membership card photo and trips within the App

  • Turn location permission on or off in iOS Settings

  • Decline ad tracking when prompted (or change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking); and

  • Delete the App to remove all local data.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since we do not maintain personal data about you on our systems, these requests are generally satisfied by the on-device controls above. You are welcome to contact us with any questions.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at passportmap-privacy.carrd.co
